Build Connection - One Happy Hour at a Time 🍻 (minus the booze)
At Fluency Firm, we don’t all share the same office—or even the same city. But one thing we do share is a commitment to connection and culture.
Back when Fluency was just four people, I started hosting a monthly “happy hour” that didn’t involve any drinking. Instead, I made a little quiz game called 𝙳̲𝚒̲𝚗̲𝚐̲𝚋̲𝚊̲𝚝̲. It was a way for us to laugh, compete, and connect beyond the day-to-day work.
Fast forward 3.5 years—we’re now a team of 30+ incredible people, and that tradition is still alive and thriving. Each month, a different team member takes the reins and hosts our virtual hangout in their own style.
Last week, Jasmine Larsen absolutely crushed it with a Halloween-themed murder mystery game 🎃🔪 It was a total hit—and a reminder of how important it is to build moments of fun and togetherness, especially in a predominantly virtual-first work world.
These small traditions might seem lighthearted—but they’ve been a big part of what’s made Fluency feel like home. 💛
