What I Learned From Spending a Few Days with Tony Robbins 🧠🔥
By Jacob Rokeach
A few weeks ago, I went to a Tony Robbins seminar — and since then, a lot of people have asked, “So… what did you get out of it? Was it worth it?”
In one word - YES! (IYKYK).
It was equal parts mindset shift and emotional reset. Here are my 3 biggest takeaways:
💡 1. The “Two Millimeter” Rule (2mm)
Small changes can create massive outcomes.
Tony shared how a world-class plastic surgeon might shift an eye by just two millimeters — and it completely changes how a face looks.
Life works the same way.
➡️ Wake up 30 minutes earlier.
➡️ Go to bed a bit earlier.
➡️ Add 5 minutes of morning reflection before diving into chaos.
Tiny shifts compound into real transformation.
🙏 2. Gratitude Changes Everything
When you focus on what’s missing, you’ll always feel lack.
When you focus on what’s already there, you feel abundance.
I’m grateful for three healthy kids, a partner I love, work that challenges me, and a city that inspires me.
You can’t feel fear or anger when you’re truly grateful — and that’s powerful perspective.
🌍 3. Life Happens For You, Not To You
This one hit hard.
Obstacles are teachers, not punishments. Every challenge is something life gives you to grow through.
That reframe alone changes how you show up as a partner, parent, and leader.
✨ Bonus Habits That Help Me Practice It:
1️⃣ Morning “priming” — Tony’s 10-minute morning meditation on YouTube is an incredible reset (link in comments).
2️⃣ The 5-Minute Journal — takes two minutes in the morning, three at night. Simple, grounding, powerful (link in comments).
3️⃣ Micro-gratitude — find joy in tiny things: fresh fruit, ocean air, your kid running to hug you.
None of this is new — but it’s easy to forget. And when you remember… everything feels lighter.
I'm always working on myself and always grateful / happy to share the journey with people doing the same. Drop a line if you want to chat.
